Connie,
An idea you might try with fairy tales is to take several versions of the
same story and do a diagram of related elements for example you could use
Cinderella as a starting point and then use Rough Face Girl, The Talking
Eggs, and Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters for comparison.  I'm sure you can
think of other combinations as well.  Venn diagrams work well for this
activity.  Hope this is of some help.
