Forwarded message: From: Self <SLAB/LONG> To: LM_NET@SUVM>SYR>EDU Subject: Book awards and HIGH SCHOOL collection development Date: Thu, 30 Jun 1994 10:58:40 **Timed dated material--Please respond by July 5,1994--4PM EDT** `Allo, `Allo LM_NETters, I have received several useful responses concerning book awards as selection aids. Surprisingly (or maybe not to you) I have received no responses from HIGH SCHOOL MLS's. Responses have been from Pre-K through 8th LMS's and one university(Australia). I would especially like to hear from high school MLS's (grades 9- 12) before doing a final tally. Thanks to all that have responded and will respond whatever grade(s) you manage . Happy July 4th. `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Pam Long Mind how you go. If so, which book awards do you count on each year? Whether you count one or ten+ please answer. I really want to know how book awards figure into your collection development. Please tell me what type of library you purchase for (private/public school, college, university, private/public library, other), which book award(s) you use, and if you can spare the time, why you use them. Thanks ahead, Pam Long
