Many people have been asking about our spring/summer Internet course offerings.
Here is the information:

Mankato State University Internet Classes Spring/Summer, 1994

        The Library Media Education Department, College of Education, at
Mankato (MN) State University offers several courses/workshops dealing with the
Internet.  These courses are offered on campus and in the Twin Cities at
Pentagon Park in Edina.
        E-mail, LISTSERVs, Telnet, FTP, Gopher, Archie, Veronica, and World
Wide Web are some of the topics covered. All students are given an Internet
account.
        Courses are offered every quarter. You must preregister for these
courses to acquire your Internet account ID.  For more information contact:

**Spring Quarter, 1994 - March 28-June 10:

LME 691 IS: Internet & the School Library Media Professional
Instructor:  Frank R. Birmingham
(Dr. Frank R. Birmingham developed this course. It has been offered and filled
every quarter for over a year. He is chair of the Library Media Education
Department and has presented many workshops on the Internet.  Even though it is
aimed at the Library Media professional, this course has been taken by numerous
individuals in many professions.)
Time: 4:30-7:30 pm Mondays
Location:  Pentagon Park, Edina, MN

LME 691 IS: Evaluation and Organization of Internet Resources
Instructor: Dana Noonan
(This is a new course developed by Dr. Dana Noonan, a world authority on the
Internet, author of  'A Guide to Internet/Bitnet', author/editor of Network
News, and administrator of MetroLine and MetroNet [bulletin board and LISTSERV
for Twin Cities media professionals]. The course is designed for public,
business, and university individuals interested in finding out where to find
the answer to clients questions.)

LME 691 Advanced Internetworking
Instructor:  Don E. Descy
(Dr. Don E. Descy has presented scores of workshops on the Internet. He has
written many articles on the Internet and also writes a regular column on the
Internet in TechTrends.  He is also the administrator of the MEMO [Minnesota
Educational Media Organization] Gopher and the MEMO-net LISTSERV.)
