Sorry for the delay in posting this information. I had requested more details on he possibility of buying cheaper cartridges for this printer. My lead was a false one - the only option seems to be to buy them new at a cost of $13-18 each. The other information is that the printer is no longer made. A shame, really, because it is VERY quiet, and an ideal output device for situations where high quality is not necessary, e.g. citations from Info-trac, printouts from SIRS, etc. Perhaps the low initial cost of the printer makes it cost-effective to continue to buy the relatively expensive cartridges, vis-a-vis buying a brand new printer .
