From Blanche Woolls, the current president of the American Association of School Librarians: The vote on ESEA reauthorization has been postponed (again) to Wednesday March 9th. Let's try this to show our legislators that we care about our 44,000,000 students in the U.S. schools. 1. Call your member of the House of Representatives in their home state office and/or in Washington. 2. Call three school library media specialist friends and ask them to call their representatives. Let's see if we can generate 30,000 calls our Representatives today and Tuesday. Let's show them our INFORMATION POWER!! Let's let them know we are watching out for our students (and their future constituents) today and tomorrow! If it doesn't add to this burden, please let me know which legislators you and your school library media specialist friends called. WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE! Blanche Woolls woolls@lis.pitt.edu
