Subject: Banks and Mr. Dewey

Thank you so much for posting my banking messages. The response
has been wonderful and I will keep on adding the names to a final list I
will post to the net in the end. In the meantime, will you please add
this new idea for people to share? Thanks. I can't tell you how much I
love the Internet and what a difference it has made in our school. The
world is so much more interesting now to "study." Geography and history
are fun! The kids love hearing from people from around the globe. Each
morning we have morning announcements and share with the kids, all notes
that come in. Thank both of you for the phenomenal jobs you do to help
make all these dreams happen! Mim xoxoxo

Dear Friends,

Keep those greetings coming, so you and your
location can be taken to the BANK! We intend to have a
great display of all the responses we got for the grand
re-opening of our community bank.

So far, we've received 30 responses, the latest one
came from Barbara in North Carolina who passed along
several names of sites in her area with banks, including the
Outer Banks.

For all of you who remember or use the Dewey
Decimal (Melvil Dewey 1851-1931) system in your libraries....here's a challenge
. Can you think of a way to use the word "BANK" in each of the categories? I
 'm going
to use this "lesson" with my fifth grade students this week.
I intend to break them up into cooperative learning groups
and unleash them and their creativity. I'll share all interesting discoveries.
In the meantime, feel free to add
your own ideas.
