ANNOUNCING MULTIMEDIA SCHOOLS, A NEW, HOW-TO JOURNAL
FOR  K-12 SCHOOL MEDIA PROFESSIONALS   TO BE PUBLISHED IN
PRINT  AND  INTERNET VERSIONS

Wilton, Ct.  Online Inc., a longtime publisher of how-to journals for
electronic  information professionals, announced MULTIMEDIA
SCHOOLS (MMS), a new journal  covering multimedia, CD-ROM, online
and Internet databases and  educational software.  Edited for school
librarians, media specialists, computer coordinators,  curriculum
directors and teachers using new media, MMS concentrates on reviews of
new titles,  hardware and software evaluations, technical advice and
troubleshooting,  and profiles  of high-tech installations.

MULTIMEDIA SCHOOLS first print issue will be in May 1994. An  Internet
version will be  available containing time-sensitive reviews; up-to-date
news; product  announcements;  and selected articles of interest to school
professionals from Online Incs  other  publications, ONLINE, DATABASE
and CD-ROM Professional. Also  online will be  cumulative indexes to these
publications, current Tables of Contents and  ordering  information.
According to Online Inc. President Jeff Pemberton,  There is  a
considerable  reservoir of recent how-to articles on CD-ROMs and online
databases that  we can make  available to school professionals.

The first issue of MULTIMEDIA SCHOOLS will feature the teaching wall,
a giant screen  multimedia display unit at Holmes Junior High School in
Covington,  Kentucky. Other  key articles will cover troubleshooting
multimedia installations, how to evaluate and  select CD-ROMs, how to
introduce online databases into the  curriculum, and how to get your school
connected to the  Internet.  The first  issue will also contain a number of
peer-written reviews of CDs and optical  discs. Subsequent issues will have
articles examining the use of information technology in specific areas of the
K-12 curriculum.
