security systems for media centers

A new high school library media center is being planned and the library
media specialists are interested in a secruity system.  Does anyone have
experience with either 3M's Talltletape or the Checkpoint systems?  What
are the pros/cons of security systems?  Did these systems help reduce
loss of items?  Did students find these systems easy to defeat?  Is a
security system cost effective?
