End-of-year procedures

   I would like to know how other elementary school librarians handle the
end-of-year procedures as inventory, final reports, etc.  Our library is
not automated and I am curious as to how much class-free time is allowed
in other school libraries for librarians to complete these record-keeping
tasks.
   Also I am interested in knowing how many weeks before school is out that
elementary librarians ask for all books to be returned to the library.  What
is the opinion of your classroom teachers when the library is closed early?
Is the library closed completely or are students allowed to come in to use
reference materials?  Please contact me personally.
