zap and more

Netters,
        I need help in doing something.  A colleague and I want college
students to use a zap camera and incorporate the picture into a one page
newsletter as an assignment in a language arts/social studies block.
Sort of a model of what they could do with kids.  BUT  I don't ahve the
know how.  I'm a mac user.  Once we get the pix and import them into the
computer are there specific programs that we can use for the newsletter
or cansome of the simple programs like Writing Center be used?  Where do
I look for this info?  TIA --
