:         Therefore, I am very interested in what other states or even school
: districts are looking for in a library media specialist. All information will
: be appreciated and I will post a target if I get quite a bit of different
: answers.

Laura,
     School Library Journal periodically publishes an article detailing
and comparing the requirements for school media specialists across the
country. A search of back issues and/or Library Literature should turn
up the most recent article for you. Good luck!
