Women Authors and Multicultural Writers

Dear Colleagues,

This is my first attempt at sending to the entire group.  Apologies in
advance for any errors.  Here goes:

I am the LMS for an all boys college prep school. The English department
chairperson would like to revise the reading list for the Junior
English Honors classes for next fall.  She would like to include women
and minority authors.  Now, keeping in mind the audience and their ages,
could anyone offer suggestions of authors and titles that  I could pass
along to her?  I've been on the 'net only for afew months, but, Iknow
my question will be answered by knowledgable people.

I will personally send other interested parties a list of responses.  I
will only post a HIT if there seems to be a great number of requests.
