My principal and an assistant superintendent (both of whom know I can get info from colleagues via Internet!) are writing a major report that may get our school district much money in desegregation funds. They asked me to ask if anyone has any experience with the following (they have background research, they're looking for more personal accounts): (1) Using differentiated groupings to affect smaller Pupil/Teacher Ratio. (2) A Human Relations department in school or district. If so, how is it structured and how utilized? (3) Different methods to personalize education. (4) Dr. Jeff Howard's "Efficacy Program." Is anyone using it? How effective has it been in turning around teacher mindset (expectations for poor and/or minority students) and closing gaps between student outcomes for majority/minority students? If you can help, please send directly to me. I'll try to compile each of these things and will forward results to interested parties. (No, the two administrators have no idea of how much work this is! Well, maybe the principal is learning...) %^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^% Katie Filipowicz, Library Media Specialist Lincoln High School, 375 Kneeland Ave., Yonkers, New York 10704 USA Phone: (914) 376-8392 Internet: ny001142@mail.nyser.net %^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%^%
