I have seen the electronic verion in all levels of school LMCs and > yet if text is the significant issue here then I question the appropriateness > of this resource in a secondary LMC. I agree, Marjorie. We use Groliers and InfoFinder. Our students who just want to interact with a computer like to browse the picture section of Groliers, but when they are doing real research, they will use both Infofinder and Groliers for the print-outs. When I was at Middle School, the programs were used the same way. If a student wanted to impress someone with his computer skills, he would show the pictures and animation; but if he was looking for information, he used InfoFinder (we didn't have Groliers there). We really enjoyed having Compton's at the Middle School level, but I believe more documentation is important for high schoolers. Betty bhamilt@tenet.edu Betty Hamilton, LRS .----.
