Poetry Anthology

    An elementary teacher in one of our district's schools submitted a
    studen't poem for publishing.  The parent called asking about the
    reputability of the Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans.  The
    American Academy of Poetry is the publisher out of Asheboro, North
    Carolina.

    The parent received a notice from the publisher that his child's poem
    had been selected for publication and was asking for permission to
    publish.  The parent said that the company was also informing him the
    cost of purchasing the anthology.

    Is anyone familiar with this publisher or anthology?   I'd appreciate
    information to pass along to the parent.  This incident is happening
    in a school with no media specialist.  I"m the district coordinator
    and am trying to assist this parent.
