Subject: Library curriculum as t schools of education

The MA School Library Media Association (MSLMA) and the Children's
Issues Section of the Massachusetts Library Associai tion (CIS/MLA)
have come together to start exploring a relationship with MA teachers
that will begin in college. The project is called Library
Information for Education (LIFE). The goal is to encourage the
developmet nt of curriculum at the college level that will enhance
teacher-to-be knowledge of library resources and librarians as a
vital complement to classroom education. If you know of similar projects,
so as not to recreated the wheel, if possible let Carolyn Noah
(CNoah@site.cwmars.mass.edu) or Linda Braun (Eastern_reg@bpl.org)
know. Or if you live in MA and would like to be involved, contact
Linda Braun (phone 617 536-4010). A meeting is planned for the
Afternoon of Monday June 6.
