I sure am glad to be here (LM_NET). Our state conference was good. I enjoyed the keynote speaker, Dr. Jacqueline C. Mancall of Drexel University. She spoke on "What's in it for kids." There were a number of very interesting presentations. The one that most impressed me was "The role of technology in Restructuring Schools," presented by John Rinaldi, Asst. Superintendent for Technology, Chittendon South District, Hinesburg, Vermont. I guess when he stated that his district may soon give CD-ROMs to incoming kindergarders to record all of their projects from K-12 grades. By soon, I think he meant within the next four or five years. It seems the district is concidering purchase of a CD-ROM writer which would make tha possible. Imagine such a portfolio accompanying a college application! --esther ml05451@llwnet.ll.pbs.org
