Almost 100 of you responded to my cry for help last week. I knew you would come through but didn't dream the response would be that overwhelming. I am truly gratified. All of you offered moral support -- it is a great help to know that almost everybody has experienced their own "library from hell" as one netter phrased it. You were unanimous in insisting that I recruit volunteer help, and I am taking that advice. I had been using a few lackluster students who mainly wanted to get out of PE, but I realize I don't have to settle for that. I am going to let students apply for the job and have them stay after school one day a week for training. Many of you said the kids are willing to work for food. :-) I have been busily gluing pockets to poster board and have already checked out a few classes that way. It will be a great time saver and I can get my helpers to do some of the shelving, once I get them trained. Although things are still in a mess, I can see a ray of hope, and am trying very hard to take another frequently given piece of advice: to not be so hard on myself, not try to do it all myself, and to settle for less than perfection. I will try to respond to you individually as I can, but please know that I appreciate all of you for taking the time to comfort me and share your experiences. Judy Estabrook Dallas, TX
