LM_NET Messages and Mailbox Size

Hello LM_NET Colleagues,

  This is a friendly reminder to those of us who have size limitations on
our e-mailbox.  Be sure to check your mail regularly, and delete those
messages that you don't need to keep.

  You may not know this, but many e-mail systems reject mail after a
certain size limit is reached.  The rejected mail is returned to sender.
In our case, the sender is the LM_NET co-owner's mailbox.

  There may be as many as 45 messages posted on an average day. On some
busy LM_NET days I have received as many as 450 returned ("bounced")
messages.  (i.e., 10 full member mailboxes times 45 rejected postings to
LM_NET.)

  Please do your best to keep your mailbox below its size limit.  Thank
you very much.

  Perhaps it would be better for you to receive LM_NET postings in digest
format.  (One big message instead of many individual messages.) If so,
please read more.

  Send mail to LISTSERV@SUVM.SYR.EDU (Internet users)  or,
               LISTSERV@SUVM.BITNET  (Bitnet only)

with one of the following commands in the body of the mail--
 *not* in the Subject: line.

To turn the digest ON:
  SET LM_NET DIGEST

To turn the digest OFF:
  SET LM_NET MAIL

Please remember to send it to one of the addresses above, not to the group.
