users of maclibrary entering periodicals and vf

Our media center was automated last year.  Our schoo is all macintosh and
we are using the automation program MacLibrary.  The book collection was
entered through retrospective conversion.  I am now looking at entering
vertical file materials and periodicals.  Could anyone advise on what
they found the best way to enter vertical file and periodicals so it was
fastest but most effective for the student to use.
