It seems amazing that a fixture of our field like Baker and Taylor would
shoot themselves in the foot so publically.  Four dollars per title
surcharge???

Some LM_netizens reponded by recommending their favorite dealer. I also
feel that exceptional service and effort should be rewarded, hence this
plug for Mackin Book Company, a smallish company in Minnisota which has won
almost all my business.

They are: willing to track down any title, are very accurate, are good with
discounts, are easy to deal with over the internet (mackinbk@MR.net) or
phone.

I once asked them to provide a list of biographies matching certain
criteria.  I was floored to receive an excellent annotated list within
hours.

I wish them well and am eager to hear of other vendor recommendations from
our community.
