HIT:help in locating discussion groups -- various subjects

Since there was never a target, I'm not sure there can be a hit, but...
Lately, there have been the requests for help in identifying listservs
of various specialties.  I have stumbled upon a list of internet guides
that might be a good place for folks to start looking.  The irony is that
at the Mich gopher, it's called the list of guides maintained by staff
at UNH, (I gopher from UNH first to Minn, then to Mich to get to it, but
it's not obvious directly on the UNH menu.  Aanyway, an index of all the
guides produces a subject list of 157 items.  By choosing the number
associated with the subject, you get a multipaged document, remenicent of
the pathfinders of yesteryear, all related to internet resources on the
topic.  I have appended the listing of 157 subjects, so you'll get a
flavor of the breadth of subjects.  If you find the information useful,
I'll pass on the comments to the UNH staff.  If they get good press, maybe
thet'll upgrade the mail program so we don't have to continue to hit
return at the end of every 6" line of text.  Hope this helps.
