TARGET-Parent/teacher conferences high school

We are considering changing the way we handle parent teacher conferences
to make them more effective on a high school level.  Currently, we have
them on a Monday and Wednesday evening from 3:30 to 7:30pm one time in
the fall and then one time in March.  Response by parents is poor to
so-so.  What works for all of you?  I'll post a HIT if I get enough
responses.:-)
