Endangered animals unit/lesson plans/ideas?

I am planning a unit on endangered animals with two Fourth Grade teachers.
 Could anyone share ideas, plans, resources for such a unit?  Have you seen
anything in print, such as one of the media journals?  Will appreciate any
help any of you may be able to give.  I am just getting the door open to
planning cooperatively with these teachers and want to get off to a good
start.
