Novembert 22, 1963, was during my first year of teaching. I was at the old Big Rapids High School in west central Michigan. When it was announces, I wanted to put up JFK's pciture with a black border and the head librarian (retiring that year) said no. Later that afternoon I went to the new, partifally finished, BRHS whee tVS were running the news. The dicision was made that costudents could attend class if they wished and teachers would make that available. I had a typing class and some students came in to do regular work. We had a play scheduled that weekend and the dicision was made to go ahead with it, as the national day of mouring was set for Monday. Richard Librarian -- q
