I would like some help with a research paper that I am working on for my graduate level Curriculum course. If any of you feel inclined to help, I would be very grateful. I am examining the effectiveness of the traditional library skills curriculum - teaching specific skills at specific grade levels, in isolation. I plan to also study the newer methods of teaching information access skills integrated into the curriculum and taught on an as-needed basis. Once I have evaluated these methods, I plan to contrast and compare and determine the most effective method. I would appreciate it if anyone who is willing would respond directly to me with responses to the following: * Name - (optional) * Years of experience in library... * Grade level of experience.... * Please write a few lines telling some thoughts, impressions, and/or experiences with the traditional style of teaching library skills. * Please write a few lines about the integrated information access skills curriculum. Do you use this method? Share thoughts, impressions, and/or experiences. I would appreciate any negative and positive thoughts you might have about each approach. I'd like comments about problems, benefits, good experiences, bad experiences, etc. Be as concise or verbose as you feel the need. Thank you all in advance for any input you can provide. I have already informed my professor that part of my research would be input from my colleagues through internet contact. She was impressed, so I know she'll be even more so once she sees the responses!! Thanks a million, Kathy *-*-*-*-*-* kcremean@magnus.acs.ohio-state.edu *-*-*-*-*-* Kathy Cremeans Bearo #450, Good Bears of the World Elem Library Media Specialist Chairbear, Beary Good Friends Den Columbus Public Schools Columbus, Ohio
