Dear Group--One of my English teachers is interested in books, plays, or poems in American literature that were written in response to some aspect of American History. For example, The Crucible by Arthur Miller was written as a protest to McCarthyism. Another example(although it is not Amer. Lit.) would be Animal Farm in response to the Russian Revolution and Communism. If you have any ideas about this, please respond to me privately at Burwinkel_J@Hcca.ohio.gov TIA
