SEND ME YOUR CHRISTMAS LIST
ON THE INTERNET, SANTA SAYS

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN...
RIGHT DOWN THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY COURTESY OF NEWSCHANNEL 13

ALBANY, NY and the NORTH POLE--In a move applauded worldwide as an
innovative effort aimed at making it easier for children and their parents
to reach him with their Christmas lists, Santa Claus announced today that
he has opened an address on the Internet, the global information network,
courtesy of WNYT Newschannel 13.

"Effective immediately, anyone around the world who cares to share their
Christmas wish list with me by using this new-fangled electronic mail
thingy can now get in touch with me almost immediately," Santa said.

According to Santa, he has established an Internet electronic mail address
in cooperation with WNYT Newschannel 13's Newslink 13, the Capital
District's first 24 hour computerized news and information service.

Santa will read and reply to all electronic mail sent to him at his
Newslink 13 Internet address:

santa@newslink13.com

Subscribers to the Newslink 13 information service can address their
letters to Santa at:
Santa

"I've always prided myself on my ability to be nearly everywhere at once,"
Santa said. "Advances in computer telecommunications have made my job that
much easier.

"Now, I'll be able to log on through my modem (a gift from Mrs. Claus) and
learn what all good little boys and girls want for Christmas this year.
And, they tell me e-mail is quick and efficient, so I expect my staff and I
should be better able to anticipate the demand for certain gifts and adjust
our inventories accordingly."
Newslink officials said Santa will acknowledge each message sent to him and
will followup with detailed, individual responses.

"Santa has deployed a contingent of elves to help him coordinate the
expected onslaught of pre-Christmas messages," Don Rittner, Newslink 13's
network administrator said.

Since April 1994, over 40,000+ users in and around the Capital Region have
logged on to the Newslink 13 computers through an easy-to-use, attractive
interface for news & information, Internet electronic mail access and over
100 discussion topics originating around the world.
