I had several requests to post the results of this request as a hit--here
it is! I hope no one minds the condensation--many people responded with
many duplications.

I would like to thank all who responded to my plea for picture books which
could be used as an example of mystery as a genre. Your immediate
responses were extremely helpful. Once again, you saved the day (and won
praises)!

In addition to the following list of mystery picture book titles, I
received ordering information for this potentially helpful resource which
I have ordered but not yet received:

        Approaches to Literature Through Genre
        Van Vliet, Lucille W.

        ISBN: 0-89774-773-9

The author of "Approaches to Literature through Genre" draws from
her years of experience as a library media specialist to create an
exciting and effective method for motivating students to read. Teaching
tips and activities are described, as well as methods for introducing
critical-thinking and communication skills.
