My "policy" is to get everything out immediately if a person asks for it;
you can always just do a brief title entry and then complete the
cataloging later. Having someone wait for materials they want to use
can be bad p.r. No one should have to wait no longer than untilthe next
day.
My strong feeling about getting things to people as soon as they request
them partially has to do with something tht happened to be in high
school--way back in the 1960's--I badly wanted to read a new book that I knew ha
d arrived
and I had to wait forever.
