Helen, our district selection policy does not allow us to include R-rated videos and I have (sometimes, vary regretfully) returned videos that are R-rated and not indicated such in reviews. I think since they are almost always shown to a large audience we would be remiss not to respect that policy. Compared with books that are generally read by one person at a time, the same kind of material in videos creates a different level of acceptability for teachers to show all. I'd like to hear your responses from others.
