Seeking MF reader/printer advice

I am going to try - yet again - to get our District to purchase a
microfiche (and maybe film) reader-printer for the library.  We have pots
of microfilm and fiche, all of which now goes virtually unused.

(In the old days, the kiddos actually used to - gasp - take notes from
the readers.  No more.)

What models/brands have you had good luck with in your libraries?  Any
you would recommend as tops?  Any you would recommend as the pits?


And on the flip side, how many folks think I am positively deranged for
wanting a reader-printer at all?  We do have MAS Full Text Select running,
which gives us text printouts for some 60 titles back to 1990.  Should I
be lobbying for more printers and some full-image cds, instead?
