We were in exactly the same situation you were in and bought a Pioneer
6-disk CD-ROM jukebox. I'm not a technical person, so I'm not exactly sure
how it was connected to the workstation, but it has worked very well. We
use "Direct Access," a software program, to access it and keep the six cd's
in permanently - encyclopedia, Newsbank (3 disks), SIRS, and Granger's.
It's a nice mix, and until we can afford to network, it works well. We have
had no problem with theft, but I suppose it could happen.
