Dear Netters,
There is a great book out that is suitable for ANY library,
elementary through high school. It is William Wegman's
CINDERELLA.
For those of you unfamiliar with his photography, Wegman has
made a (very successful) career of photographing his Weimaraner
dogs in some of the most outrageous and interesting costumes and
positions. He describes the breed as very "sensuous" and his
photographic skills, combined with a Weimaraner's own tendency to
show off for an audience or a camera, makes Wegman's books,
calendars, T-shirts and other items, quite remarkable. Of
course, since I, too, own a Weimaraner, I live with these canine
antics every day!!
CINDERELLA is told with color photographs of his dogs,
dressed up as Cinderella, the wicked stepmother and stepsisters,
and, of course, Prince Charming. It truly is a delightful book
for anyone to read.
I understand that Wegman's version of Little Red Riding Hood
will be out in the fall.
