Target-> Technology centers for staff development

I have recently been promoted (?) to the Human Resources (Formerly staff
development) Offices at our Board of Education.  Part of my job is to halp
design and order hardware and software for a new teacher technology center
to be located in a former school building currently being renovated for
our offices.  Does anyone know of excellent programs that are out there
so I can visit or talk to the staff?  We have private funding available
and I have been told to get the best and to think ahead for the 21st
century.  I am also to design a "Library for the year 2000".  My boss
envisions it as a room with computer connections to the world and no books.
I disagree, but would like to know what other school district are doing
to plan for the future for staff development facilities.  I will do a Hit->
of all responses.
