Authors on the net and greetings

I have two  requests for the group.  An English teacher would like for
her advanced 11th grade class to correspond with  American authors on the
net.  does  anyone know where I might locate such authors?  Also, I am
doing a brief presentation on e-mail for a group of teachers.  I would
appreciate greetings from any of you who might have a moment to respond.
