Thanks for all that soul searching and brain searching too.  Several folk
asked for a posting of the correct answer if it ever appeared.  It did 4
times.  I think this is the most understandable explanation of the
process.  Many thanks.  I will try to be as helpful when others post

Policemen, but not stations
Hideaways, but not retreats.
Patrolmen, but not beats

What is the rule?  Answer:  Mrs. McGillicuddy likes words with 3 syllables

       And that is what Mrs. McGillicuddy is all about.  Mrs McGillicuddy
was also Lucy's maiden name on the I Love Lucy show.
