One of our English teachers would like your help. She has received a book report from a student which is not consistent with his previous written work. It begins: Brave New World (1932), a satirical, futuristic novel by Aldous Huxley, is a major work of Utopian Literature. Set in the year 632, it depicts a world in which art, religion and individual achievement have been replaced by societal conformity, indifferent technology ... We do not have access to Masterplots, CliffNotes, Monarch, or any book of literary criticism. We are a small school (7-12, 400 students) located about 30 miles from any library large enough to provide such sources and have no local newstands which carry Cliff's. Because we are a small community, and because of "who the student is" we do not feel we can accuse without support, but we also do not think it is fair to him or to others if we fail to address this situation. If there is a source, gopher or otherwise, for this kind of information on Internet, I have not yet found it, but would appreciate knowing how to access it. Please reply to me, personally, as this does not seem suitable for the Net. The teacher and I greatly appreciate any help you can give us.
