Funding souce for AV equip?

Dear Group,
Where does your school get the funding it uses to purchase
AV equipment?  Our county does not have any particular
funds set aside for this - it's each school for themselves.
The state gives each teacher a certain amount each year
(last year it was $138 each) to spend as the school sees fit,
and some schools routinely pool their money for big ticket
items, but my teachers always want to spend their money
individually.
Perhaps your experiences and ideas can help me move toward
new funding sources or put my teachers in a more generous
mood!
