A few weeks ago there was a message asking for information about the English game of skittles. I deleted it, because I didn't think I could help, but this week I received some of my book order, and I now have an answer. The book I found it in is Ball Games, one of the volumes in The Marshall Cavendish Illustrated Guide to Games Children Play Around the World. Information and pictures of several games played with balls and "skittles," or pins, are found on pp. 19-22. If the person who requested the information still needs it and doesn't have access to this book, send me your snail mail address and I will send a copy of these pages to you. This series looks like a great resource. I plan to add the other volumes to our collection in the future.
