Gail makes some good points.  While, I too, have often bemoaned the
seemingly constant television-viewing of my own kids, I have always felt
that there is so much that is good and relevant on TV that I would hate
to "throw the baby out with the bath water."  I like her idea of focusing
on media literacy.  Kudo's, Gail!
