Glenbrook South High School has an opening for a half time library media
specialist. Below is a job description and qualifications. Base salary for
the position would be about $18,600 for a person with an MA and no
experience. The school has an excellent benefit package. GBS is a school of
2250 students. The GBS IMC is staffed by three full time library media
specialists, eight support staff, and an administrative director.  The GBS
IMC is just completing a million dollar rennovation including the addition of
several computer areas. The catalog is automated with Dynix.

Responsibilities:
* teach research and reference skills
* assist students in locating materials in the IMC
* supervise students in the IMC
* assist faculty and staff in locating materials in the IMC
* consult with faculty on curriculum
* assist in coordinating circulation functions
* supervise student workers
* other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
* classroom teaching experience
* experience using computers and other instructional technologies
* ALA/MLS preferred
