REF: Louisiana 60's college roommate quest

I'm helping a friend try to locate her fella's college roommate. So far
no success (after about 20 phone calls) with those "phone book" CDs. No
help offered from whatever office she talked to at the university. Here's
the little info we have:
        Name: Jerry Stracka
        College: Louisiana Tech
        Timeframe: early 60's - probably 1958-1963ish

We can't ask her fella for more info 'cause finding his roommate is
(hopefully) going to be a surprise. And he could be anywhere in the world.

From the timeframe, he may have been in Vietnam. Anyone know if there is
a searchable index to the names of those KIA?

Any Louisiana Tech alumni out there? Or anyone in that area of Louisiana?

Any suggestions on search locations, methods, etc. would be appreciated.
