LM_Netters, Our school is considering going to some form of block scheduling for the next school year. We are currently 6 periods a day with study halls. Our 7-12 enrollment is approximately 600. I currently use library aides, who come from study hall, for many tasks. I need input, please, about the following concerns. How is the library scheduled for use by the students? (I assume that teachers schedule class use--but what about free time use??) Do you have student library aides? How do you schedule them? If there are no study halls, where do they come from? If you don't have student library aides, who helps???? There is not enough of me to go around now! Can you still have a library club? If so, what criteria do you use if you have no student helpers? (My club is made up of my library aides.) Do classes make better use of the library with block scheduling than they did with regular scheduling? What are the problem areas? Do you like it better? Thanks so much for any and all help. I've been online since Oct. and I have really enjoyed all the great info that I've gotten from all of you. Merry Christmas.
