One early summer day, I was driving with my family looking for homegrown strawberries. There was a sign at fruitstand that indicated they had strawberries. I wondered out loud if they were local berries. My oldest daughter, who was then about six or so, who loved fruit, wanted to know "what are luckleberries?" She is 16 now and still doesn't think this is at all funny. We still look for luckleberries in the spring. Audrey Glick Monroe Traditional Middle School aglick@freenet.columbus.oh.us
