I am hoping some of you who are in secondary schools might be able to
answer a couple of questions. I have an interview Monday for a high school
LMS position with the school's assistant principal and . The district has
made a big commitment to technology and plans on upgrading the LMC along
with other upgrades. It currently has Newsbank Microfiche and MOLLI on one
OPAC and one computer for administration. Tney will be adding 4-10 (I had
so many numbers told to me at the first interview I have forgotten exactly
how many) networked stations. Specifically they want to know what kind of
information technology I would suggest for the LMC if I were hired. From my
own experience and a search of LM_NET archives, I have determined that I
would want AT LEAST the following:

SIRS
One or two Multimedia encyclopedias
MAS Full-TextElite
(some subject oriented CD'-history, science, I feel these would take more
research to choose than I have right now, especially since I am currently
"ice and snow-bound".)

Other possibilities would be:
ProQuest
Contemporary Authors
Microsoft Bookshelf
SIRS Researcher and Government Report
Sports Illustrated Almanac Edition
Masterplots.

Does this sound reasonable? I have been at the elementary level for five
years so I am a little out of touch with what is commonly used at the
secondary level.

Also, I read about Congressional Quarterly, is this print or CD? It sounds
great but I believe it is print.

Thank you very much for any help you may be able to offer.
