Patsy-  It is my undertanding that the 2 of 5 symbology is used pretty
exclusively by Follett and is non-standard.  Code 39 or 3 of 9 is used by
most of the major school library automation companies.  The 14 digit
barcode is probably Codabar. It's frequently used by public libraries and
university libraries.  You will either have to standardize the barcoding
used throughout your system or purchase a scanner capable of reading
different symbologies.  We are facing a similar situation in Hartford.  We
are collaborating with the public library in establishing an automated
system that links the public libraires with the school libraries.  We are
worried plenty about the loss of autonomy this will create.
