Someone recently asked about cornerstones. Our local YWCA located in
downtown Columbus is being renovated. An article in today's Columbus
Dispatch is about the items found in a metal box taken from the
cornerstone of the building. Articles in the box include several Columbus
newspapers dated June 2, 1928, a 48 star flag, and a previously unknown
history of the YWCA of Columbus from its founding in 1886. The capsule
also contained a copy of the will of the woman whose bequest made the
original construction possible. When the renovation nears completion, the
time capsule will be resealed with some new additions and placed back in
the cornerstone.
