YA & Middle Level Authors

I am looking for Summer of 1996 conferences, courses, sites to visit,
etc., that relate to YA & Middle Level literature & authors.  Most of the
time, I love all this new tech stuff, but I need a literature fix, NOW!
Any suggestions?  I am considering Montgomery's Avonlea setting, but
would like other options. TIA
