Film loop projectors

A science teacher at our school told me that he has hundreds of
what he calls "film loops" in his lab, but no projector.  These
are old quarter-inch film loops entirely encased in plastic.  I
can find no old machines in the library that seem appropriate to
play the things.  Does anyone know what these are?  Can you still
get a machine to run them?  Does anyone have one of the machines

gathering dust in a closet that they would like to get rid of?
